Indigo Arts and Movement Collective is an emerging multicultural and multidisciplinary group. The collective was created by Mexican artist Angelica Ochoa and Colombian artist Giovanna Yate Gonzalez who reunited in Melbourne, 2021 after meeting 10 years ago through dance studies.

Indigo focuses on the creation of spaces, platforms, performances, and artistic tools for artists with different cultural backgrounds interested in innovating the way we perceive arts. The collective´s research aims to play with different elements such as lighting, movement, spatiality, unconventional spaces, and structures.

ANGELICA OCHOA

Angelica Ochoa is a Mexican artist with a Diploma in Live Production at Melbourne Polytechnic. Co-director of Muestra Movimiento Audiovisual, a dance film and video art festival in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Her most recent works include her participation in the opera “The Selfish Giant” as lighting technician assistant produced by Victorian Opera, director and interpreter of the short film “STAGE 4” that was part of the Melbourne Women's Film Festival 2021, dancer in the film “nowhere still for me to know you ”produced by Laura Jane Turner, written and directed by Jaala Jensen in Melbourne, Australia.
GIOVANNA YATE GONZALEZ

Giovanna Yate Gonzalez is a Colombian professional dancer who has expanded her skill set in Australia through the production bachelor at VCA in Lighting Design.
She has participated in various performances in Australia. For example, as the lighting designer for the “The Book of Everything”, directed by Ryan Bentley, 2019, the interdisciplinary dance project “Ten Degrees”, June 2021 and the musical “Sweet Charity” , November 2021 at VCA. Furthermore, a collaborative lighting installation, “Talk to Me”, with musician Monica Lim at the Bundoora Homestead Art Centre.
